Regatta
A regatta is a day or weekend full of preparation, racing and socializing with the larger rowing community. Take the opportunity to show what you're made of as you compete with your team for personal bests and awards!
Social Functions
Community is an important part of our club; we plan social events throughout the year so that we have a chance to get to know one another on and off the water.
FLCRC members simply enjoy rowing. Our rowers range from people who learned to row as adults, to rowers who competed in their younger days, and those who continue to challenge themselves with competition at various levels, from local head races to international sprint racing!.
What we share is a passion for the sport, and our intentional efforts to be a safe and friendly welcoming space for our rowers. We enjoy a level of integration with the University of the Fraser Valley coaches and athletes, enabling all our rowers to connect with more resources with well managed equipment. We are a volunteer driven club. Our success comes from willing collaboration to build community, relying on each of our members to support and be accountable to each other, for the benefit of all. We leave no one behind. We are your rowing family!
We offer our Learn to Row graduates a Novice Program to continue to develop skills and confidence (rowing with a variety of rowers and equipment). Upon coach recommendation and board approval, rowers may then join the club as a full member.
If you are an experienced rower from elsewhere and would like to join our club, please contact us.
We welcome all rowers, of all abilities, to row with us in a program best suited to you.
Our members enjoy rowing for recreation, enjoy the outdoors, training to improve skill and speed, competing at regattas, making friends with other rowers, working together in the club to maintain our equipment. Its a great sport and a great club!
We mostly scull, and (with the help of UFV) we sometimes sweep! We love to meet rowers from elsewhere, and introduce more people to this great lifelong sport. If you are an experienced rower visiting our area,m contact us for more info about dropping in.
